Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser Review

Origins Gin Zing Energy Boosting Moisturiser, £23

Origins seems to be everywhere in the blogging world and I now definitely understand why. As my first purchase from the brand, I have not been disappointed. My skincare routine is incredibly simple. I have naturally good skin and so try to leave it alone as much as possible, but recently my skin has been looking a little “lack-lustre”. I’ve been in need of something which gives a healthy glow and this has been the answer.

If you’re looking for something to pump energy into your face then I would definitely recommend this product. It’s light weight and oil free with a gel texture which feels incredibly cooling when massaged into the skin. Backed by the science of skin boosting Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean, it works to hydrate your skin and leave it feeling instantly plump and refreshed.

The first thing you notice about it is the zesty, zingy smell which is the perfect wake up call in the morning. It absorbs quickly so you don’t have to wait around for it to sink in before applying your make up – I allow it only a few minutes and it does the job. It is pricey but a pea size is all you need and so I can see this lasting me a decent amount of time.

I use it before going to bed and have noticed a real difference in my skin in the mornings. It looks so much brighter and more refreshed rather than sallow and dull. My skin also stays matte which makes it stand out from other moisturisers I’ve used where I have to powder my t-zone multiple times during the day.

Would you buy this? As a newbie to Origins, do you have any recommendations of other products?

Love everything from Origins – I haven't bought a single product I've been disappointed with! The Drink Up masks are amazing if you're looking to add extra hydration and radiance to the skin, I can't recommend them enough x

    • July 29, 2013 / 2:41 pm

Thank you! I was looking at that and it sounds amazing, might have to get it!

  3. July 29, 2013 / 2:53 pm

I have oily skin but if this is lightweight and oil free it might work for me! So maybe I should give it a try 🙂

I would say so – I read another girl's blog who said she had oily skin and it worked for her. It sinks in really quickly, I can't imagine it not working for you!

I love Origins! Really wanting to get this as well as the GinZing eye cream…. I have the three masks and the blemish gel and they're all fab!

    • July 29, 2013 / 3:09 pm

You should definitely do it! I'm thinking of getting one of the masks after hearing such great things 🙂

I have this and I love it too! The other Origins moisturisers seemed too old for my younger skin so this has been perfect:)xx

    • July 29, 2013 / 11:12 pm

I thought that with some of their moisturisers too! It's so lovely, glad I bought! xo

    • July 29, 2013 / 11:13 pm

I've been reading up on that and am definitely tempted! xo

I've been hearing so much about this recently and been quite tempted to try it but really don't want to spend the money on it if it doesn't work. I've got quite oily skin (ewww) so I'm really picky with moisturisers and don't use them frequently. I recently bought the origins 10 minute rescue (my first origins purchase) for oily skin, I've used it twice and already seen such a difference! I am a converted origins fan!

I read a review by a girl with oily skin and she said it was fine for her! It's really light so you'd probably be okay. I really want to get one of their more intense masks, they sound lovely!

This sounds so nice. I'm so tempted to give it a go! I'd day something that sounds similar is my Burt's Bees night cream, but I've been looking for a replacement for a while now, so I might try origins for a change! Great review, thanks =]

Not the biggest fan of Origins due to all the fragrances but I would really love to try it.
I see that you're new on blogger.
You have a lot of potential as well 🙂 I think if you post a lot more consistently, your blog will go far.

i might go for this after i finish the current one i'm using
would you like to follow each other ? i've just followed you 😀

    • August 1, 2013 / 9:55 am

I don't mean to be rude, but if you want people to check out your blog put effort into leaving a thoughtful comment rather than just asking them to follow you! It gets really irritating. I always check out people's blogs whether they ask or not! xo

    • August 1, 2013 / 9:56 am

Followed you back over on bloglovin! I'd definitely recommend them, it feels good to have some luxury skin care! xo

    • August 1, 2013 / 9:57 am

You definitely should, hope it works as well for you as it has done for me! xo

I haven't had chance to try this yet but it definitely sounds like something I could get along with as I love products which aim to brighten the skin!
Night-a-mins is also a brilliant Origins night time moisturiser, I have the gel version and the texture sounds the same as this, it's great for renewing the skin as you sleep 🙂

    • August 3, 2013 / 3:04 pm

Oooh sounds great 🙂 thanks, I'll definitely check that out! xo

I used Origins for about a year; For me, it's a great company (their values, products, everything). They're about as 'natural' as you're going to get when it comes to mainstream skin care lines and while they still use some not so favorable ingredients, for the most part they're trustworthy. (They're one of the few companies I can just walk in and pick up a product without having to read the ingredients. I trust it not to be too harsh.)

The only reason I stopped using Origins was to switch to even more natural / organic products, but that was for my own personal reasons, nothing to due with their products! I would really recommend going in the store (if you're near one) and talking with them! They seriously have AMAZING staffs and they will become your skincare experts/best friends/therapist/makeup artist, just EVERYTHING lol. They're get in-depth with your skin (for free!) and recommend the right things all while keeping track & personal interest of your skincare routine. (Seriously my lady, Rue, used to call me once every other week to check in & let me know what products where in stock/had just come in for me!)

But I know two products they really recommend to most people are their Clear Improvement charcoal mask, & their Drink it Up moisturizer. I had both & really loved them! Gahh, this was long!!! Didn't mean to write so much haha. Good luck with Origins!
