Elemis // Papaya Enzyme Peel Review

Sometimes life just gets on top of us and we need a pick me up, right?  I’m a strong believer in always setting some time aside to relax once a week – even if it’s only for half an hour. Burning incense, chilling out and turning off your phone and laptop is essential, especially at times when you feel down or stressed.
When I feel anxious, homesick at uni or simply fed up, I always take some time out on a Sunday night to reflect on things and calm down. We can’t all afford to take ourselves off to luxurious spa days, but this product amazingly brings the spa to you, as it’s so relaxing and soothing.
This little piece of heaven in a bottle is the closest you can get that sensation of absolute peace during a facial. When you rub it in to your skin, it has a creamy texture which smooths out easily without leaving a heavy layer.
I did initially expect to ‘peel’ this off my skin, but the product carries a more creamy texture which makes it a micro-exfoliating face mask rather than an abrasive exfoliator. The exotic smell of the peel is one of the main things I love about it as the scent is so luxurious and relaxing.
You leave it on for 15 minutes or so before wiping it off with a warm flannel. It’s extremely effective in rejuvenating tired looking skin and leaving it radiant and refreshed. I go to this both when I’m in need of an instant ‘pick me up’ before a night out and for pamper nights when I really want to treat my skin.

What’s your favourite pick me up product? Have you ever tried this?

Lydia Rose,

xoxo

I, too, love my pamper nights. I think it's the perfect way to distress as well. I've never tried anything from Elemis, but this comes highly recommended! Thanks so much for sharing. xx

This sounds absolutely gorgeous, I completely agree about taking time to pamper on a weekly basis! Especially if I'm feeling anxious, I think it's good to look after yourself physically as it always makes me feel a little better. I love Elemis products, such good quality xx

I've never tried anything by Elemis, I tend to stick to Dermalogica. I really need to try some. Thanks for leaving me your link 🙂 Danielle xx
