August Favourites

I’ve nearly been blogging for two months and it’s gone so quickly, it feels so strange to already be writing my second monthly favourites post! This summer has given me the much needed time to work on things besides my degree. Does anybody else love that feeling of updating your CV with loads of sparkly new things? I still have a few more weeks before Uni to cram things in and then it’s moving into a new flat and starting my second year! Anyway, a little late on the ‘August Favourites’ but these are the things I’ve been loving this month…

My current go-to brand for haircare is definitely Wella. Being a bleached blonde, it’s essential to have decent products to keep your hair in good condition. The Wella Brilliance Treatment is supposed to restore and enhance the vibrancy of coloured hair; I can’t so much vouch for that, but I can say that it leaves my hair looking healthy and shiny which is what I want from a treatment. On top of that, it has an amazing fruity smell which I absolutely love. On to the Thermal Image Heat Protector, after using this every time I’ve washed my hair over the past few months I have noticed a considerable improvement in the condition compared to other heat protectors. Definitely my new favourite haircare brand!

I recently reviewed the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel here. It really is heaven in a bottle and has such a soothing effect on the skin. This will definitely be what I pick up when Uni really gets on top of me – I get stressed out so easily and so a product like this goes a long way when I need to calm down.

Can you tell from the nail varnish and lipstick shades that I was totally over summer by the time Autumn came in? This No 7 nail varnish in ‘Damson Dream’ has been one of my favourites for a while. I love a deep purple colour on my nails, teaming it with a big fluffy cardigan and ankle boots is one of my favourite lazy day outfits. MAC Rebel has been hugely hyped in the blogosphere. It’s a statement vampy shade which I’ve been wearing a lot lately and will be doing over the Winter months.

Onto eyes, I can safely say that the Bourjous Liner Feutre in Noir is hands down the best liquid eyeliner I’ve ever used. I’ll probably do a full review on it soon so you can see how amazing it really is. After wearing liquid eyeliner pretty much every day since I was 12, I consider myself a bit of an expert. This pen is thin and flexible anx glides on effortlessly. I really hate the ones – ahem Rimmel’s Scandal Eyes- which are really thick and stubborn, go on an inch thick and are impossible to get any product out of without going over it 15 times. I would 100% recommend this!

Deborah Milano recently sent me one of their eyeshadows to review. They’re one of the most popular make up brands in Italy and are now coming to the UK. After browsing their website for a product to pick, I was underwhelmed by the range in terms of choice, and so opted for a bronze eyeshadow. I’m really not a fan of the dinky eyeshadow brushes which are useless or the plastic casing. The packaging does nothing for the actual product which was surprisingly really impressive. The shade is so pigmented and long lasting. I’ve been wearing this with just mascara and really love how it looks! They also sent me some testers for BB creams which I liked too – definitely a brand worth looking into.

What have you been loving this month?

The Wella products sound amazing, just what I'm looking for! Being a newborn redhead requires special care and I really need some nice hair masks and especially a heat protectant which seems impossible to find in my country. I know we have the brand in our drugstores, but I'm not sure whether we have these particular products, will need to have better look!

And you have a really lovely blog, I can't believe you just started out!

Love Mac Rebel, never tried it myself, but it looks amazing. Not sure I can get away with such a deep purple being a natural ginge!

I recently bought Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner too because my usual one was out of stock and I'm not a fn ๐Ÿ™

I was just researching the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel and it sounds lovely! I like that it is affordable compared to the others. I am receiving several Origins products soon, including the Charcoal Mask and i hope it ends up being as good as this Elemis peel! If not i might just have to invest.

Two Months! Wow! I do love the Bourjous Liner too, but last week I found it in my bag with no lid so it obviously dried up. So gutted! I will definitely need to re-purchase. haha
