What’s In My Bag? | September

My Vivienne Westwood bag is pretty much the love of my life. It was a gift for Christmas and I feel so lucky and grateful for it. I’m literally impossible to buy for, but this is exactly my style and what I would have chosen for myself. A patent black handbag goes with everything and compliments my outfits so well. It really is my dream bag!

First up, I obviously never leave the house without my purse which holds my cards, cash, railcard and ID. I got it from Primark for Β£3 last year and seriously need a new one now as it’s now falling apart!

You probably instantly noticed the stupid amount of train tickets I’m currently hoarding. I am CONSTANTLY on public transport which does nothing for my general misanthropy for most of the human population. I live in a tiny market town in The Lake District with no major shops, so anything from shopping, nights out or visiting my friends involves a train. My boyfriend also lives in Birmingham which is fine when I’m at Uni but a three hour train journey during the holidays!

The fact I spend about a third of my life on trains is why I never go anywhere without my headphones. I’ve just signed up to Spotify premium which I love and think is so worth it. It saves me so much money on music and I love being able to listen to whatever I like wherever I go. Whenever you play a song the artist also gets a (small) amount of money – so much more guilt free than downloading! Things I’ve been listening to a lot lately are Charli XCX, Grimes, Best Coast and Paramore’s new album, ‘Aint it Fun’ is my song right now.

My Kindle Fire is the second most important electrical item I have in my bag besides my iPhone 5. A lot of people seem to be against Kindles, but for a Literature student, they are one of the most useful inventions out there. It allows me to have all my course books in one place on a handheld device which makes my life so much easier. I don’t have to rummage through all my books the night before Uni, just pop this in my bag and go! Before buying it in my first term I had to cart about 15 books on the train along with my suitcase… not fun!

That weird plastic thing in a red box is my retainer. I got braces at a pretty late age (17) and went an alternative route of having clear brackets which were changed once a month until I got my braces off in less than a year. Although my teeth were by no means extremely bad, they always effected my self esteem and getting them straightened was hands down one of the best decisions I’ve made. They’ve slightly corrected my underbite without entirely altering my jaw and fixed the permanent toothache I used to have. One of the downsides is that I have to wear this at night and whenever I can during the day to keep my teeth in place until I can get a fixed metal retainer at the end of the summer. I can’t talk with it and it gives me THE biggest pout, but it does the job, and I’m so much happier now I have perfect teeth!

I’m not the type of girl to lug around an entire make up bag, but I always have my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Collection 2000 and a lipstick on hand. These are essential for quick make up fixes and I need powder to stop my skin getting oily during the day. I never go a day without wearing lipstick and usually have about 5 in my bag, so this was a good day!

Daisy by Marc Jacobs is my all time favourite perfume. I’ve worn it every day for the past two years and have been through so many bottles. I never leave the house without it!

Next is Pom Pom’s harness and doggy treats. She comes with me most places I go so I usually have these in my bag. Her little harness is adorable but I really want to get her a custom one that isn’t too O.T.T and Paris Hilton-esque. I always have her treats and usually a toy to keep her entertained. I love my little puppy so much!

Finally is probably the most boring thing, a shopping list. I went grocery shopping last week for lots of fresh fruit, veggies and vegan essentials. I’ve radically changed my diet over the summer and managed to lose 10lbs so far. Yay! Once I reach my goal of a stone I’ll be writing all about what I eat and my tips for losing weight and improving your diet. Besides quorn, I’ve been eating a mostly vegan diet and it’s made me feel so much better. I’ve been following deliciouslyella.com’s blog for yummy recipes and whenever I make something interesting I usually post an Instagram so feel free to have a look.

I hope you liked having a peek into my bag. Personally I love reading these posts as you can look into people’s daily lives and get to know so much about the person behind the blog!

What are you carrying around with you right now? Do you have a handbag you can’t live without?

Lydia Rose,

xoxo

Love this! I adore handbags and i have quite a few. If i had to choose a favorite out of my collection i think it would be my Fendi Peekaboo or my Chanel Executive tote! I can't believe you have to ride three hours to see your boyfriend, when do you go back to Uni?

Ah I love your bag! I'm on the hunt for a good handbag, but have not found anything I like lately. I always have my ipad & Iphone with me. My bag is constantly filled with lipsticks. I don't know why I find going on the train to be cool. We don't have anything like that in California I'm constantly stuck in traffic! Lovely post! xxxx

Without sounding silly I love that you included your retainer and train tickets! See so many of these where people have obviously selected really nice items and only shown them where you have literally shown us what is in there. Nice to see real things haha if it was my bag there would be so much more junk!

Yeah my bag is full of bus tickets and train tickets with loose change swimming around the bottom. I should probably start clearing it out every night haha! I'd love a kindle and the Marc Jacobs perfume- when I worked in the perfumery department at my old job I would always spray that one. It's my favourite… which I don't actually own.

In this essay I will consider the social, economic and political factors of buy bags for women UK. I find myself constantly drawn back to the subject of buy bags for women UK. Remarkably buy bags for women UK is heralded by shopkeepers and investment bankers alike, leading many to state that there are just not enough blues songs written about buy bags for women UK. The juxtapositioning of buy bags for women UK with fundamental economic, social and political strategic conflict draws criticism from those politicaly minded individuals living in the past, who form the last great hope for our civilzation. Hold onto your hats as we begin a journey into buy bags for women UK
