Blackhead Killers

Blackhead Killer, £14.95 c/o StyleLux

Blackheads. They have plagued me throughout my oily-faced teen years and ruined my day many, many times. I’ve tried a whole array of products and pretty much every t-zone strip on the market, but nothing really seems to make these things budge. So when StyleLux contacted me to see whether I wanted to give these a go, I couldn’t refuse.
The first thing about this product is that it looks like you are literally smearing tar over your face. It’s a sticky and opaque mask that has a gooey consistency. It seriously goes to town on your skin and you can see it at work as it dries. The patches where the product is literally sucking out all the dirt and impurities become really noticeable, which is pretty gross, but lets you know that it’s working.
When I first tried it, I left it on past the recommended time and it was really painful to pull off and left red, sore patches. The second time around I only kept it on for the recommended time and it peeled off my skin gently. Like any peel off product, you should avoid applying it too close to delicate areas of the face such as around your eyes to avoid any pain. Admittedly it’s not the most convenient of products, it is messy, and the peeling off effect can be quite uncomfortable. But in terms of results, this is definitely effective at drawing out blackheads and visibly reducing their appearance.

Would you try these? What’s your favourite product for busting blackheads?

Lydia Rose,

I think this is the most effective thing I've tried for removing blackheads. I just which they sold it in a tube instead of sachets. It would be so cleaner!

I've tried near enough every black head clearer in the shops and nothing has ever helped. I seem to get black heads really quickly after getting rid of them despite using stuff to righten my pores. Will have to give these a go. I don't have sensitive skin so hopefully these will be worthwhile 🙂

These sound soo good. Do you think the results would last though? They remind me of those old school nose strips I used back in the day! xx

I'm not a fan of these sort of strips as I don't find that they have an amazing affect on blackheads 🙁 I haven't tried this produt before but would certainly give it a go. I have also struggled with blackheads but have found two products that actually work incredibly well on removing blackheads. The Garnier 3 in 1 wash, scrub and mask, and the Soap and Glory self heating pore mask ( both have been reviewed on my blog).
