First MAC Quad

L-R: Gleam, All That Glitters, Woodwinked, Satin Taupe

I’ve been lusting after a MAC palette for such a long time… So when my incredibly lovely boyfriend’s parents got me a Selfridges gift card for Christmas, it was pretty obvious what I was going to pick out! I’ve been using my trusty Urban Decay Naked palettes for a solid two years now and it just felt like it was time to branch out into the MAC world. I picked these shades after a lot of beauty blog reading and concluding these as must have shades. You might notice that I went for all shimmery shadows. I’m definitely all about glitter and seeing as I have all the staple matte shades in my palettes they just didn’t feel worth the money. Maybe I’m wrong?  I am planning on building up a Pro Palette so if there are any matte shades you would recommend, let me know!

Top Left – Gleam (Lustre)
A champagne pink with a barely-there gold undertone, perfect for accentuating the inner corners and blending out for minimal make up days.

Top Right – All That Glitters (Veluxe Pearl)
My A/W eyeshadow of choice. An easy all over the lid colour which blends into a two-tonal muted beige with gold shimmer running through it.

Bottom Left – Woodwinked (Veluxe Pearl)
An antique bronze that looks amazing blended in the outer corners and does something seriously special for blue eyes.

Bottom Right – Satin Taupe (Frost)
A taupe shade with a frosty silver shimmer. I go to this on nights out for the perfect smoked out eye.

What do you think of this quad? Are there any shades you’d recommend for building up a palette? What are your favourites?

This is so gorgeous! I'd love to branch out into some MAC eyeshadows too, I'm pretty sure at least a couple of these would be in mine too.

I love all these shades but you seriously need to try Patina. It's absolutely gorgeous and perfect for everyday wear.

Oh I like this quad a lot. I decided on getting a quad but now I've somehow ended up with 8 mac eye shadows so I'm tempted to go for a large palette soon! Amber lights is also amazing on blue eyes.

I love your quad! I have "Woodwinked" (it's my only mac eyeshadow) and whenever I wear makeup, I pretty much wear that! Haha, it's great and go pretty! I love the orange undertones, it's so warming ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't think I could have put together a more perfect palette. I'm completely with you on the shimmer thing, matte eyeshadows kind of bore me! x

ahhhh I'm so, so jealous! I really want to make up a mac quad and I WILL do it sometime soon, even just gradually, I'm thinking like a pinky based smokey eye for my shades. You picked out some gorgeous shades and I love woodwinked! I also know its a firm blogger favourite also.

You have such a lovely blog, glad I found it!

Lovely shades, I have all of these except Gleam in my MAC palette – I love All That Glitters! I completely agree with you about shimmer shades being nicer than mattes. I'd also recommend Sumptuous Olive – it's my all time favourite MAC eyeshadow. If you were looking for a matte to add to the collection, I'd recommend Charcoal Brown xx

These shades look lush, they would go with absolutely ANYTHING! I love metallics for Autumn/Winter to create a dramatic smokey eye. I haven't actually tried MAC eyeshadows yet but I've heard a lot of great reviews about them
